This solution offers a practical approach to automating garage door operation by leveraging existing security camera infrastructure. With a straightforward DIY setup, users can control their garage door opener—regardless of brand—using a compatible Axis Camera equipped with output terminals.
Required components include:
- A compatible Axis Camera (refer to supported models below)
- A garage door mechanism that can be activated via a standard switch
- An easy-to-assemble relay circuit, either purchased or built independently
- A public IP address and appropriate port forwarding configuration on your router
